Scott G. Nelson


 







Scott G. Nelson was born in 1975 in Salt Lake City, Utah and grew up at the base of Utah's Wasatch Mountain's. Scott spent most of his time in his childhood with his father exploring the many outdoor activities that Utah has to offer. His father would take him along on fishing and hunting trips at an early age. They would also spend many weekends hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, motorcycling, skiing and enjoying various other outdoor activities.

Scott and his father would spend weeks in Utah's uinta mountain range backpacking, camping, fishing and enjoying the great outdoors. They also went on many mountain bike trips to Slick Rock in Moab, Utah and all over the Cottonwood Canyons above Salt Lake City. Scott was schooled in the outdoors of Utah. He participated in the scouting program and received his Eagle Scout award in 1991.

Scott's first love is the outdoors, however he is also an avid sports fan. Throughout his high school years he could be found on a regular basis watching and playing a variety of sports. Scott enjoys many sports, his favorites include Basketball, Baseball and Football.

Scott graduated from Granite High School in 1993 and went on a 2 year LDS mission in 1994 to London, England. He was married in the Salt Lake Temple to Denise Palmer in 1998. Scott began his college level education at Salt Lake Community College, studying mass communication with emphasis in broadcasting and digital media. He received his associate's degree in 2001. In September of 2002 Scott and Denise had their first child, a boy that they named Brady. Scott graduated from the University of Utah in 2003, with a Bachelors degree in Mass Communication, with an emphasis in telecommunications and electronic marketing.

Scott has had some great media experience. He has worked for ABC Sports during the Speed Skating world championships at the Utah Olympic Oval in 2001. He also worked as an intern in the K-Jazz Sports department during the summer of 2001. Scott worked for International Sports Broadcasting, the host broadcaster of the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games on two occasions. First during the World Cup Luge competition at the Utah Olympic Game Park in Park City, Utah in 2001. Then during the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games at the Soldier Hollow venue in Midway, Utah.

Scott worked in radio during his final year of college and an additional year after graduation. He worked for Sportsradio 1280 the Zone producing sports talk radio and doing some reporting. Scott worked for 2 years as the Director of Multimedia & Web for Broadband Communications. In 2006 Scott & Denise had their second child, another boy that they named Dylan. Scott is currently working for XanGo as the Marketing Web Sr. Manager.
